A little about me.

I’m Andy. I’ve been taking photographs professionally for a long time, but photography is only part of who I am.

I’m a husband, a dad, a dog owner, a bit of a problem solver and someone who probably spends far too much time noticing the small things other people miss.

I like people who are genuine. I value honesty, loyalty and doing things properly. I’m not especially interested in showing off, and I’ve never been very good at pretending to be something I’m not.

Outside work, life is fairly normal. I spend time with my family, get dragged into whatever Sprout, our Cocker Spaniel, has decided is important that day, and still have a soft spot for computer games after starting out as a games artist back in the late 1980s.

That early career probably explains quite a lot about me. I’ve always liked the mix of creative thinking and technical problem solving. I enjoy figuring things out. I like making things work better. And I’m generally happiest when I’m doing something that has a clear purpose behind it.

I’m also pretty calm by nature. I don’t need to be the loudest person in the room, and I’m quite happy letting other people have the attention.

Humour matters to me too. Not forced jokes or trying to perform for people, just the sort of dry, slightly daft moments that make everyday life more enjoyable.

More than anything, I think I’m quite straightforward.
