What it’s actually like having me there

Your wedding isn’t a photoshoot

You’ve planned a day with the people you care about. You should be able to enjoy it.

My job is to photograph what it actually felt like to be there. The nerves before the ceremony. The look across the aisle. Your friends making you laugh when they should probably be behaving themselves. The hugs, the speeches, the people you haven’t seen for years and whatever happens once the dance floor gets going.

And yes, we’ll make time for some beautiful photographs of the two of you too.

You won’t need to know how to pose or wonder what to do with your hands. I’ll give you direction when you need it, keep things relaxed, and get you back to your guests rather than turning your wedding into an endless photoshoot.

The whole story, not just the obvious bits

A wedding is made up of hundreds of little moments.

Some you’ll see. Plenty you won’t.

While you’re busy getting married, I’m watching what’s happening around you. Parents trying not to cry. Friends catching up. Kids doing things they probably shouldn’t. Someone practising their speech in a quiet corner. A hand squeeze under the table.

Of course I’ll photograph the big moments too. Getting ready, the ceremony, confetti, groups, portraits, speeches, first dance and everything in between.

But years from now, it’s often the photographs you didn’t know were being taken that bring the day rushing back.

When it’s time for your photos

Most couples don’t arrive at their wedding secretly hoping for a two-hour portrait session.

Neither would I.

For your couple portraits, I usually need around 15 to 20 minutes. We’ll go somewhere that works, I’ll give you enough direction that you never feel lost, and we’ll make photographs that still feel like the two of you.

If the light does something particularly lovely later, I might steal you away for another five or ten minutes.

Group photographs are planned beforehand and handled quickly on the day. I’ll organise everyone, keep things moving and make sure nobody spends half the drinks reception wondering when they’re allowed to leave.

Then you can get back to your wedding.

What you can expect from me

I’ve photographed weddings long enough to know that they rarely run exactly to plan.

Weather changes. Speeches overrun. Cars get stuck. Buttons fall off. Somebody disappears just before the group photographs.

That’s fine.

You’re not booking me simply to turn up with cameras. You’re booking experience. Someone who can read what’s happening, anticipate moments, solve problems quietly and keep photographing without making the day about photography.

For full-day weddings that also means:

Coverage built around your day

From preparations through to the dance floor, with enough flexibility for real weddings and real timings.

No arbitrary limit on photographs

If a photograph belongs in the story, you get it.

Sneak peeks within a day or two

A small selection while the wedding still feels wonderfully recent.

Your complete gallery in around 1 to 2 weeks

Every photograph selected and edited by me.

A private online gallery

Ready to download, share with family and friends, and use to order prints and albums.

A pre-wedding shoot if you want one

Particularly useful if being photographed is something you’re nervous about. It gives you a chance to discover before the wedding that it really isn’t as bad as you imagined.

Experience matters when the plan changes

Weddings are emotional, busy and sometimes a little chaotic. Timings shift, weather changes, nerves kick in. My job is to be the calm one who’s seen it all before. Couples tell me they chose – and recommend – me because:

  • I’m relaxed, but professional and organised
  • I blend in and don’t take over the day
  • I help them feel at ease, even if they usually hate photos
  • Their gallery feels like their wedding, not a generic template

You should feel looked after from the moment you enquire, not just when the camera comes out.

How it works

1. Get in touch with your date

Send me a quick message with your date, venue and a rough idea of your plans. I’ll confirm availability and send you the options that best fit what you’re looking for.

2. Have a relaxed chat

We jump on a video call or phone call. You tell me about your day – what you’re excited about, what you’re worried about, and what absolutely must be captured. I’ll talk you through how I work and answer any questions.

3. Secure your date

Once that’s done, your date is firmly in the diary and we can leave the details until closer to the wedding.

4. Final planning

Closer to the wedding, we’ll go through your timeline, key people, group photo list and any must-have moments, so we’re on exactly the same page.

Testimonials

Satisfied 100%, our wedding pictures look absolutely amazing! Andy is not only an amazing photographer with an artistic eye but also very professional and a great person. We wanted our wedding day to be light and fun and he contributed to the vibe with his humour and fun attitude. For the group photos he easily coordinated people speaking 3 different languages to stand for him, while the rest of the evening he was so discreet that we haven’t really noticed him taking the pictures.

We highly recommend Shooting Pixels Photography who recently photographed our wedding. Andy just blends into the background and took so many beautiful photos which we didn’t even realise he took. The natural photos really captured our day and he ensured all our guests were included. Andy makes you laugh and makes you feel really comfortable so you don’t feel like you are just posing for the camera! He’s really warm, friendly and talented and we are so happy with everything he has produced for us.
