I’ll give you direction when you need it, keep the group photos moving, and then get out of the way so you can spend the day with the people you invited.

The photographs should feel like your day

You don’t need to know what to do in front of the camera.

Most of the couples I photograph tell me they’re not comfortable having their picture taken. That’s completely normal.

I won’t leave you standing there wondering where to put your hands, but I’m also not going to turn your wedding into an endless photoshoot.

When a little direction helps, I’ll give it. When something is happening naturally, I’ll let it happen.

Your wedding, without the photography taking over

There are moments when I’ll take charge.

If we’re organising group photographs, I’ll get everyone together quickly and keep things moving.

If the light is beautiful and there’s a great place for a couple of portraits, I’ll let you know.

But for most of the day, I’m watching what’s actually happening.

The hug you didn’t see.

Someone laughing at the back of the ceremony.

Your parents watching you during the speeches.

The people you love being completely themselves.

Wedding photography from £400

Whether you’re planning a small ceremony or a full wedding day, there are a few straightforward options.

2 hours — £400

Ideal for smaller weddings and registry office ceremonies. Enough time for arrivals, the ceremony, confetti, family photographs and some time together afterwards.

Ceremony onwards — £1,400

Coverage from around 30 minutes before the ceremony through to your first dance.

All day — £1,800

From preparations before the ceremony through to the dancing in the evening.

I’m based in Somerset and regularly photograph weddings across Taunton, Bridgwater, Wellington, Yeovil, Frome, Bath, Bristol and the wider South West.

I’ve photographed everything from small registry office ceremonies to country houses, farms, churches, barns and full weekend celebrations.

Wherever you’re getting married, the approach stays the same.

Good photographs, enough guidance to make things easy, and plenty of time for you to actually enjoy being there.

Will we feel awkward?

Possibly for the first five minutes.

Then you’ll probably forget about it.

You don’t have to practise poses or perform for the camera. I’ll keep things simple and give you enough direction that you never feel abandoned in front of the lens.

Quite often the couples who tell me they hate having their photograph taken are the ones who end up enjoying it the most.
